About the Project

The mission of Youth Environment Society (YES!) is urgent yet straightforward: to remove barriers preventing young students, especially from underserved backgrounds, from building effective networks and campaigning for sustainability-related concerns within their local communities.

Founded in March 2026 YES! provides mentorship, practical guidance, hands-on leadership training, and real-world community action opportunities.

This begins with inspiration and knowledge-sharing. We launched the Say YES! podcast series featuring conversations with startup founders, grassroots campaigners, and youth leaders working on environmental issues. We authored YES! Files, a practical 5-module guide outlining concrete pathways for youth-led advocacy. We facilitated student-led workshops on leadership and campaigning skills. Additionally, we organised community sustainability events and launched the YES Incubator - a structured program in partnership with the Akanksha Foundation - that supports students aged 13–16 in designing and implementing their own supervised environmental initiatives, complete with training, mentorship, micro-funding, and guided execution.

Through these targeted interventions, Youth Environment Society (YES!) makes environmental advocacy accessible and actionable, raising confident networks of young leaders driving sustainability from the grassroots level.
